Essential Sales
Purpose of the course:
The first in a series of 6 sales enablement courses designed to equip new and developing sales staff with the fundamental skills and mindset needed to succeed — covering prospecting, building rapport, understanding customer needs, handling objections, and closing with confidence. Intended as a foundation programme for staff stepping into a sales role for the first time, or those needing a structured refresher on core techniques.
My approach:
Developed in Storyline 360 using a character-led narrative structure, following a real-world process through a series of realistic customer interactions from first contact through to close. Learners make decisions at key points, reinforcing that sales is a skill built on listening and adaptability rather than a fixed script. Graphics were created using a variety of tools, including Adobe Stock, Runway, Artlist and Camtasia, with narration created using ElevenLabs. Tone kept energetic and practical throughout — focused on building genuine confidence rather than teaching manipulative tactics.
Measuring success:
Effectiveness is measured through a combination of exercises within the course, tracking the quality of information gathered and informed decisions based on client feedback, and post-training observation by line managers using a structured coaching checklist aligned to the course content. Longer-term impact assessed through sales performance data — monitoring conversion rates, average deal size, and time to first sale for staff who completed the programme compared to those who had not.
